TITLE Impact of Succession Planning On Job Satisfaction at Mother Dairy
ABSTRACT Career succession planning is a key human resource strategy for identifying and developing internal talent to fill critical roles, ensuring organizational continuity and employee growth. This quantitative study examines employee perceptions of succession planning practices at Mother Dairy, a leading Indian dairy cooperative, and their effects on job satisfaction and productivity. Data were collected from 100 employees using a structured questionnaire with Likert-scale items, multiple-choice questions, and demographic details. Descriptive statistics, correlation, and regression analyses were performed using SPSS. Results show moderate awareness and satisfaction with succession processes (59% overall satisfied), with positive views on internal promotions, career development alignment (64%), and incentives (61%). A significant positive correlation exists between succession planning and job satisfaction (r = 0.61, p < 0.05), while regression indicates succession planning strongly predicts organizational productivity (? = 0.59, R² = 0.84, p < 0.05). Employees value transparent internal recruitment, training, and autonomy but highlight barriers like inconsistent communication and lack of formal notifications. The findings emphasize that effective succession planning boosts morale, motivation, and performance in the dairy sector. Recommendations include regular updates, structured training, and transparent policies to enhance talent retention and long-term sustainability at Mother Dairy.
