| TITLE | An Equity Risk–Return Analysis of Selected Indian Power Sector Companies |

| ABSTRACT | The power sector plays a pivotal role in the economic growth and infrastructure development of India. With increasing investments in renewable energy, regulatory reforms, and market liberalization, equity investment in power sector companies has gained significant attention among investors. This research paper aims to conduct an equity risk–return analysis of selected Indian power sector companies—Adani Green Energy Limited, BF Utilities Limited, Hitachi Energy India Limited, NCL Industries Limited, and TD Power Systems Limited. Using secondary data collected from stock market sources for a three-month period, the study evaluates average returns, variance, standard deviation, coefficient of variation, and systematic risk indicators. The research adopts a quantitative and analytical research design to compare the risk-return profiles of the selected stocks. The findings reveal significant differences in volatility and return behavior among the firms, highlighting the importance of systematic risk assessment in portfolio construction. The study concludes with investor-oriented recommendations emphasizing diversification and risk-adjusted returns. |
